First All-Russia open auto all-round events for women have started in Kazan. RT Premier Ildar Khalikov and Chief of Directorate on ensuring traffic safety of RF Ministry of the interior Major general of police Viktor Nilov attended the opening ceremony.

Head of republican government wished good luck and pleasant stay in Tatarstan capital to participants.
Viktor Nilov noted good organization of the event and thanked republican leadership for holding competitions in Kazan. “I wish participants show all their skills during competitions. It seems like nowadays drivers lack patience and goodwill. Many accidents happen because of rivalry on the roads”, - he said.

“10 years ago men were laughing at woman drivers. The situation has changed now. Women have become full members of traffic. They have proved arrogant men that women drivers are not only beautiful and graceful, they show example to follow, - RT Minister of the interior Asgat Safarov said at the opening ceremony.

Chief state auto inspector of republic Rifkat Minnikhanov believes that women drivers are less dangerous than men are. Statistics proves this fact as well. There are now more women who receive driving license, but only 10 % of all road accidents are caused by women.

Competitions are being held within the limits of Tenth anniversary of actions on traffic safety and are dedicated to 75-anniversary of State auto inspectorate. About 100 women drivers from 47 Russian regions are taking part in the event.

Tatarstan team is represented by four participants. All of them have 13-17 years of driving experience. All participants will pass through several stages. Theoretical part implies demonstration of traffic regulations knowledge. The most interesting part of competitions is the second stage - “Classical speed maneuvering” when participants will show their driving skills.

The closing and awarding ceremonies will be held on September, 21 in a concert hall of State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the interior Ministry on RT.
