On October 18, Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin and First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Utilities of the republic Alexey Frolov took part in an All-Russia video-conference held by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Kozak on preparation of Russian regions for the heating season 2017-2018.

Opening the meeting, Kozak said that measures taken by the regions to prepare for the winter period have yielded results, adding that all Russian entities have started the heating season smoothly. The number of accidents at housing facilities decreased last year and there has been a positive trend in general, Kozak said.

However, he noted that despite the positive dynamics, some shortcomings in the work on providing heat to social infrastructure facilities and houses have been revealed in a number of regions. Russian Deputy Prime Minister instructed heads of these regions to take the issue of providing heat under their personal control.

He also called heads of the entities in which utility companies have debts for consumed energy resources for paying serious attention to this issue and developing debt repayment schedules.
