On October 24, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in Global Technology Symposium in San Francisco.

Global Technology Symposium – GTS is Silicon Valley's leading investment conference on global venture capital, technologies and entrepreneurship at developing markets. GTS explores effects of globalization and searches for new successful ideas, bringing together representatives of business and authorities, and startup projects.

Alexandra Johnson, President of Global Technology Symposium was the moderator of the panel session “The role of innovation centers in the development of global economy”.

Rustam Minnikhanov addressed participants of the symposium with welcoming speech and told about Tatarstan as one of rapidly developing regions in Russia.

“Any territory can develop from economic and technological point of view if there is peace and concord. Representatives of 173 nationalities live in peace and concord in Tatarstan. We are proud of this experience in terms of tolerance. Tatarstan has developed its industrial base over the last few years. We are able to do it because we are open and travel around the world; we communicate, present our opportunities and adopt global practices. We are open for investors and try to implement any innovation. Russia is a big country with huge potential, and current political situation is not beneficial to anyone,” Minnikhanov said.

“We have to work hard to minimize risks for business. We want Tatarstan to be recognizable in the world, and we want everyone to know the location of our region and our capital, Kazan,” he added.
