Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a regular session of the regional State Council of the fifth convocation

On October 26, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the 33rd session of the regional State Council of the fifth convocation held by Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhametshin.  

Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Prime Minister of the republic Alexey Pesoshin, members of the regional government and invited guests took part in the session.

There were 34 issues on the session’s agenda, including 13 draft regional laws and 14 draft federal laws and 2 legislative initiatives of legislative bodies of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

Moreover, people’s deputies proposed to include the issue of teaching the state languages ​​in regional schools in the agenda.

In his turn, Minnikhanov asked them to postpone the discussion on the issue of teaching and learning the state languages ​​of the republic and the native languages ​​of the peoples of Tatarstan. According to him, it takes time to complete work, which is now underway.

"We have never had any questions on national relations. After the document appeared, we set up a working group, the Government of the republic continues to work on it. I believe that this work should be fully completed," Tatarstan President noted.

He added that a constructive dialogue is being held with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
