Rustam Minnikhanov: We will be glad to see Asian investors in Tatarstan

Tatarstan authorities are ready to support Asian investors in every possible way and willing to see them in republic, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated in the course of Tatar-Singapore business forum.
Rustam Minnikhanov and members of Tatarstan delegation have met with potential investors representing big companies in Singapore and other Asian countries. The meeting was attended by Vice- RT prime minister - RT minister of info and telecom Nikolai Nikiforov, chairman of RT Investment development agency Linar Yakupov, director of RT External relations department – aide to RT President Iskander Muflikhanov, Chairman of Ak Bars Bank executive board Robert Musin, Director general of JSC Tatneft Shafagat Takhautdinov.
Iskander Muflikhanov reported on Tatarstan economic potential for foreign investors. He informed that republic is one of the most interesting Russian regions for investors. Forbes magazine supports this statement as well. A certain legislative base has been created in RT to attract investments, there is a developed infrastructure and a solid educational potential in the region.
Chairman of RT Investment development agency Linar Yakupov in his turn emphasized that Tatarstan and neighboring regions represent a huge market. The republic may become a good place for foreign businessmen willing to start working in Russia.
Linar Yakupov called opportunity to contact republican government a special advantage of Tatarstan. It lets avoiding bureaucratic barriers.
Presentation of holding company “Ak Bars” was held within the limits of meeting with investors. Businessmen were told about new vessel A145 produced at Zelenodolsk shipyard plant that may be of interest for countries of Southeastern Asia.
Representatives of foreign companies asked several questions to Tatarstan authorities. They were particularly interested in terms of capital circulation in Russia and any restrictions for foreign companies at Russian enterprises. RT President Rustam Minnikhanov answered that there are no any restrictions for foreign capital transfer and participation of foreign companies may be of any form. R. Minnikhanov cited the example of joint enterprises of “KAMAZ” with foreign companies and residents of SEZ “Alabuga” being completely a foreign ownership.
President of Tatarstan stated as well that republican and Russian leadership is going to provide stability of economic government policy, support investors and guarantee safety of investments.
Upon finishing the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov invited participants to visit Tatarstan. “We will be happy to see you in Kazan and present our opportunities in details”, - R. Minnikhanov addressed Asian investors.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
