Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan is interested in developing livestock breeding

Tatarstan is interested in development of efficient mutually beneficial relations with “Elders” company (Elders Limited, Australia), President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated at a meeting with Director general of Elders company Malcolm Jackman in Adelaide (Australia).
We remind that Head of republic is on a short-term visit in Australia (September, 27-28, 2011).
At the meeting with Malcolm Jackman Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan specialists appreciated cooperation with Elders company in livestock sector. By his words, today Tatarstan is especially interested in livestock breeding, cattle reproduction and procurement of large farms with breeding stock.
“We were satisfied with export of breeding animals to Tatarstan. We hope it is just the beginning of our serious relationships”, - Malcolm Jackman said in his turn. He noted that animals were transported to Kazan on Boeing 747 by air, and it was the first practice. Deliveries of breeding animals to Moscow and other cities are expected to be arranged in the nearest future.
JSC “Rosagroleasing” that is funding such deals plays an important role in relationships with Australian company, Rustam Minnikhanov noted.
“I am sure in great potential we have for cooperation. Today one of the most important tasks for republic is to provide qualitative reproduction of cattle and develop cattle breeding”, - Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Director general of JSC “Tatneft” Shafagat Takhautdinov, board Chairman of JSC Ak Bars bank Robert Musin, Director of department for external relations – Aide to RT president on international issues Iskander Muflikhanov attended the meeting.
On 26 March Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a meeting of the Council by the Russian Presidential Envoy in the Volga Federal District dedicated to rural demographic policy held by the Russian Presidential Envoy in the District Igor Komarov in Nizhniy Novgorod with participation of heads of federal ministries concerned, representatives of the Federal Assembly and heads of federal entities of the Volga Federal District. The participants of the meeting discussed such topics as the demographic situation, implementation of federal programmes and the best regional practices, and the results of the meeting will be used for preparing comprehensive solutions of such tasks set by Russian President Vladimir Putin as preservation of the population, strengthening health, raising prosperity of people and supporting families.
On 24 March, speaking at a briefing on achievements of preventive medicine last year and plans for 2026 held in the Government House of the republic, representatives of Tatarstan Healthcare Ministry said that medical check-ups are proving their effectiveness in preserving the health and lives of residents of the republic.
Thus the regional Healthcare Minister Almir Abashev informed: “Over the past five years, a clear course has been set to ensure that preventative medicine in the country gains momentum. Starting from 2022 the number of people who should have their medical check-ups in this or that year is growing. We are facing a task of covering more than 70 per cent of elderly people with check-ups by 2030.”
On March 10, the third meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the 20th anniversary Russian Venture Forum 2026 to be held in Kazan from April 8 to 10, chaired by Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and co-chair of the forum’s organizing committee Aleksey Pesoshin, President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov, Director of the Investment and Venture Fund of Tatarstan Damir Galiev as well as representatives of federal and regional authorities, development institutions and partner organizations via videoconference, took place.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
