Rustam Minnikhanov meets with CEO of «Ford Motor Company»

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has met with President and CEO of «Ford Motor Company» Alan Mulally in Naberezhnye Chelny (Tatarstan). On behalf of Tatarstan in the meeting took part Premier Ildar Khalikov, Director general of JSC “Sollers” Vadim Shvetsov, CEO of joint enterprise Ford Sollers Adil Shirinov, acting Director general of SEZ “Alabuga” Timur Shagivaleev.
Greeting guests Rustam Minnikhanov reminded about recent visit to plant producing Ford Transit and Ford Transit Connect - «Ford Otosan» in Turkey (September 4, 2011) and shared his impressions.
In the course of meeting participants discussed joint cooperation in motor industry and production of auto components taking into account existing facilities created in Tatarstan.
President of Tatarstan stressed that development of enterprises producing auto components is a priority sphere in republic. By his words, Tatarstan has certain experience of working with suppliers of auto components and mentioned JSC “KAMAZ” practice in building up joint enterprises.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov the priority issue today is realization of project jointly with «Ford Motor Company». RT President promised that support in the sphere of staff training will be rendered on behalf of Tatarstan.
Alan Mulally thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for given opportunity to meet and said he is sure of successful realization of the joint project. He believes that proper labor conditions are created in Tatarstan motor industry and production of auto components.
Later on President of «Ford Motor Company» accompanied by Premier Ildar Khalikov visited JSC “Sollers – Elabuga” in SEZ Alabuga. Assembling, painting workshops and products to be sold in 2012 were demonstrated to the guests.
We remind that President of «Ford Motor Company» Alan Mulally arrived in Tatarstan with two-day visit on September,29. The guest was met by RT Premier Ildar Khalikov, Director general of JSC “Sollers” Vadim Shvetsov and acting Director general of SEZ “Alabuga” Timur Shagivaleev.
On 9 June upon his arrival to the Kazan International Airport, the Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov was welcomed by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin.
In Kazan Sergey Lavrov will take part in a meeting of the Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of State-Participants of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
On 5 May, speaking at a regular meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin informed that currently 63 school catering units are under repairs with the amount of work completed reaching 15 per cent.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
