Tatarstan President meets Mayor of the city of Shenzhen Chen Rugui

On November 18, during his working visit to China, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Mayor of the city of Shenzhen Chen Rugui.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minnikhanov thanked the Mayor for the invitation to visit Shenzhen and for the excellent organization of the visit of the delegation of the republic. "We have been impressed by the scope of work, which is underway in Shenzhen. Your city is the centre of the Chinese IT industry, one of the country’s largest megacities both in size and in terms of economic development. I visited Shenzhen in August 2011 and participated in the opening ceremony of the 26th World Student Games. Our city of Kazan took up the baton from your city and hosted the next Universiade in 2013. The capital of Tatarstan, Kazan, and Shenzhen have been twin-cities since 2012," Tatarstan President reminded.

Minnikhanov briefed about the current social and economic situation of the republic and joint investment projects, implemented with the participation of Chinese companies. Tatarstan President asked Chen Rugui about prospects for cooperation with Chinese companies in the technological and innovation sphere with the aim of involving them in joint projects.

Summing up, Minnikhanov once again thanked the Mayor for the hospitality and invited him to visit Tatarstan.
