Rustam Minnikhanov meets Ambassador of Ukraine to Russia

Issues of economic cooperation between Tatarstan and Ukraine have been discussed today at a meeting of the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Russia Vladimir Elchenko.
The meeting took place at the Kazan Kremlin with participation of the Director of the Department for External Relations – Aide to the RT President Iskander Muflikhanov, the Chief of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov and other officials.
At the meeting issues of economic cooperation between Tatarstan and Ukraine were raised. Events involving JSC Ukrtatnaft continue to impede development of bilateral relations, Rustam Minnikhanov acknowledged. At the same time Tatarstan and Ukraine may be proud of long-term efficient cooperation in agro-industrial sector, the Tatarstan President said.
Vladimir Elchenko informed about the interest of Ukraine towards joint production of new military transport aircraft An-70.
As Iskander Muflikhanov highlghted, the Head of the Republic asked to examine prospects of joint realization of a new technological project connected with fuel processing. The Ukranian side is also interested in renewal of direct flight connection between Kazan and Ukranian cities.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
