14 October 2011, Friday
A regular pedestrian excursion across historical places of Kazan was made today by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minikhanov. Accompanied by Olesya Baltusova head of the republic walked down Admiral settlement. RT prosecutor Kafil Amirov, RT Minister of construction Irek Faizullin and Chief of President’s staff Yuri Kamaltynov took part in the excursion.
During the pedestrian walk Olesya Baltusova told Rustam Minnikhanov about history of Admiral settlement and located here Kazan admiral building. Emperor Peter I, empress Katherine II, Alexandr Dumat had been here in different times. Dekabrists went through Admiral settlement to Siberia. But nowadays there left almost no historical monuments.
300th anniversary jubilee of Kazan admiral building will be marked in year 2018.
The excursion has ended on the dam of the Volga. As Olesya Baltusova informed, this is the most historical place of Admiral settlement – here the Admiral office building and wharfs were located. By words of excursion guide, a bank could be beautified, beaches and pedestrian zone restored and it would be good to create a museum of Admiral building where its office was located.
By opinion of Rustam Minnikhanov for restoration by 300th anniversary of Admiral building and such a historical district like Admiral settlement – a place where Russian fleet had been built, where the emperors stayed, it is necessary to obtain federal financing. Head of the republic charged Olesya Baltusova who is also aide to RT President to engage in developing a concept of historical revival of Admiral settlement.
