Ildar Khalikov congratulated Kachalov theatre on 220th anniversary

Today a significant event took place in Kazan for all connoisseurs of theatrical art – celebration of 220th anniversary of Kazan academic Russian Big drama theatre named after V.I. Kachalov.

During the evening the actors told about their history, recalled the artists who had passed away and showed the episodes from some famous performances like «Uncle’s dream», «Three pence opera», «Visit of Lady», «Fatal eggs», «Glumov», «Fiddler on the roof», «Quadrature of circle», «Mystery of Vernye House», «12 chairs», «Cherry garden».

RT Prime minister Ildar Khalikov congratulated Kachalov theatre on festive date.
«I am for the first time present at 220th jubilee, - RT PM began his speech. – I sincerely congratulate all of us, happy people, who live in Tatarstan, in Kazan with the fact that we have such a unique theatre. A stage director and actors of this theatre keep going the unique constellation of the great stage directors and actors who were known far behind the republic. We are really happy people because practically every day, year on year we are able to come to this hall and leave after performance with smiles on faces, with tears of joy, with perfectly different thoughts. Today as in old times like Gorky or Tolstoy, we can sit and enjoy a unique play of our actors».

Ildar Khalikov presented Letter of thanks from RT President R.N. Minnikhanov to the company of the theatre for big contribution in development of theatrical art and celebration of 220th anniversary of foundation, a certificate of 100 mln. roubles and 2 buses.

Besides, during the evening it was announced that honorary titles of deserved artists of RT were given to actresses Nadezhda Yeshkileva and Elena Ryashina. Art and chief director of Kachalov theatre Aleksandr Slavutsky was awarded a title of People’s artist of Tatarstan. «This award is very dear for me, since this award is from that land where I have been working already for 17 years, where I have found my home», - commented chief director.

In his turn A. Slavutsky presented a jubilee medal to Ildar Khalikov.

Today Kachalov theatre is one of leading theatrical companies in the country, being a center of Russian theatrical culture, representative of Russian art in the capital of multi-ethnic region.
