Ildar Khalikov unveils the Monument to home front workers

An official unveiling of the Monument to home front workers was held today in Leninogorsk town. Acting President of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov took part in an event.
The local veterans’ association initiated the monument establishment. The contest for the best monument design was announced a year ago. The local Leninogorsk artist Vladimir Stepanov became a winner.
The funds for construction were collected due to the efforts of the whole region. Labor teams of enterprises, students, schoolchildren, administration made their contribution. Thus, in a year the monument was established in the Walk of Heroes of the Soviet Union.
Acting President of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov marked that he visits Leninogorsk for the second time to take part in unveiling the monument. The monument to full Cavaliers of the Order of Glory was opened last year.
“But this very monument is a special one. The young and women had to serve for the Army working at factories and fields. I make a profound bow, dear home front workers”, Ildar Khalikov said expressing thanks to everyone who had made contribution into the monument’s construction and mentioned about opening of new memorials in the nearest time.
Acting RT President granted awards to the people who created the monument and unveiled it together with the Head of Leninogorsk region Ryagat Khusainov.
On 2 February in his address on the occasion of the defeat of German troops in battle of Stalingrad, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic, war veterans and home front workers with the Day of Military Honor of Russia dedicated to this event.
On 31 January at the regional Internal Ministry building in Kazan Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and the Internal Minister for the republic Damir Satretdinov took part in a ceremony of awarding winners of the regional “Territory of Law” competition.
On 28 January Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov took part in a meeting of the Foundation Board of the All-Russian Society of Inventors and Innovators held by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitriy Chernyshenko in Moscow.
On 26 January in his congratulatory address to customs officers on the occasion of the International Day of Customs Officers, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said: “For the first time this holiday was celebrated in 1983, when the World Customs Organization was 30 years old.
