Honouring winners and laureates of the contest “Best investigator of law-enforcement agencies of the Tatarstan Republic” took place in GTRK Korston (the city of Kazan) on October 24. Tatarstan Premier Ildar Khalikov took part in the awarding ceremony.

On behalf of the republican leadership and personally he thanked all winners for selfless work for the sake of the Republic.

“We are celebrating an unusual holiday devoted to a certain difficult profession, a profession with no weekends or holidays. Due to your professional skills we manage to achieve good results we are proud of. Law-enforcement agencies of the region are leaders in revealing many crimes. But the main achievement is public peace”, Ildar Khalikov said.

By results - 2010 the republican contest commission selected 29 winners and 29 laureates in the following nominations: “For special contribution in organization of preliminary investigation”, “Best investigator in revealing crimes committed by organized criminal formations”, “Best investigator in revealing economic crimes”.

Winning this contest means recognition, financial support and opportunity of promotion. Memorable diplomas and prizes for the sum of 750 thousand roubles were granted to the winners. By and large, 1,5 mln roubles were allocated for organizing the contest.

For information: the contest “Best investigator of law-enforcement agencies of RT” was organized in August 1993 upon an initiative of Tatarstan Prosecutor’s office and Investigation department of the Tatarstan interior ministry and was held under the auspices of the republican authorities.

By the way, it was not a spontaneous idea to organize the contest since the republican authorities have always supported those who watch over the law and public order. Much emphasis has been put on investigation because the final result of activity of all people revealing a crime depends on investigator’s work.

The assessment of competitors was organized in such a way to avoid any random selection of “the best”. It was based upon daily work of every investigator during the year.

The amount and complexity of accomplished work, quality of investigation, observance of legality, active use of scientific-technical tools and original methods of investigation, efficiency of preventive measures and ensuring compensation of damage were taking into account at the summing-up stage. Thus, such mechanism of assessment does not concede any accidental wins.
