Aleksey Pesoshin: The construction complex is one of the largest sectors of the economy of Tatarstan

On January 19, speaking at a summing-up meeting of the regional Ministry of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Utilities, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the construction complex of Tatarstan is one of the largest sectors of the economy, which accounts for 10 per cent of the gross added value of the republic with a share of employment in the construction making 7.9 per cent of the workforce.

Director General of the Housing and Utilities Reform Fund Konstantin Tsitsin, Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of Russia Khamit Mavliyarov and Minister of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Utilities of the republic and other officials took part in the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Pesoshin noted that seven billion roubles were invested in the construction sector in 2017, with the volume of construction works totalling 356.4 billion roubles, which corresponds to the last year’s indicators.

He continued, that the republic has approved the procedure for providing social guarantees for the development of public infrastructure, which foster successful implementation of 37 regional programmes for construction, capital repair and improvement of housing conditions. As part of these programmes, as many as 3,122 facilities amounting to 44 billion roubles were built in 2017, Pesoshin added. 

According to the Prime Minister, issues in the sphere of housing and utilities remain topical. Today, the republic is actively working to update the communal infrastructure, he said.  

Pesoshin noted that this year organizational work on the implementation of the decision to build a plant for the thermal decontamination of solid municipal waste in the republic should be completed. He also urged the Ministry of Construction of the republic together with the executive committee of Kazan to speed up work on the implementation of the project for the construction of thermo-mechanical processing of sludge in closed areas.

Moreover, the Prime Minister gave an errand to the administration of the ministry to pay special attention to the development of enterprises for the production of construction materials in the republic, as well as to work more actively in training the ​​personnel for the construction industry.
