Rustam Minnikhanov and top managers of “McDonalds” company discuss issues of cooperation in the context of summer Universiade – 2013 in Kazan

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with delegation of “McDonalds” company. The meeting was held in RT Government House with participation of President of “McDonalds” in Russia and Eastern Europe Khamzat Khasbulatov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Minister of youth affairs, sport and tourism Rafis Burganov, Director of Department for external relations - Aide to RT President on international issues Iskander Muflikhanov, Director of ANO “Executive office of XXVII World summer Universiade – 2013 in Kazan” Vladimir Leonov and others.
The talking point was cooperation with “McDonalds” company in the context of summer Universiade – 2013 in Kazan. “McDonalds” company suggested organizing temporary fast-food restaurant on the territory of Universiade Village to provide free food for participants of Universiade – 2013 during the whole working period of Universiade Village. The company intends to provide equipment, production, personnel, organize temporary premises and put up their own capital.
Rustam Minnikhanov reminded more than 13 thousand sportsmen and members of delegations from 170 countries, 1500 representatives of mass media, 50 thousand tourists and fans from Russia and abroad are expected to arrive for participation in the event. Head of Republic considers catering should be organized on a high professional level.
Attendees of the meeting debated as well the project being realized by “McDonalds” company and their partners (“Belaya dacha” company) on the territory of special economic zone “Alabuga” – the plant on processing lettuce and vegetable products. Rustam Minnikhanov marked Tatarstan authorities would continue supporting this project.
Currently there are 14 fast-food restaurants “McDonalds” functioning in Tatarstan. The company has been on the republican market for 12 years now. “McDonalds” services 46 thousand customers daily. The first fast-food restaurant “McDonalds” appeared in Russia in 1990.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
