Ildar Khalikov: we want tourism infrastructure working

“We want tourism infrastructure working for the good of Tatarstan citizens and all those willing to know about the republican history”, Tatarstan PM Ildar Khalikov stated at the opening of I Kazan international tourism forum “Benchmarks of the future”.
The event is being held in Korston with participation of Chief of Federal tourism agency Alexandr Radkov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland to Russia Matti Anttonen, Minister of youth affairs, sport and tourism Rafis Burganov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and other officials.
The forum is being held in Tatarstan capital under the auspices of RF Ministry of sport, tourism and youth policy, Federal tourism agency, RT Government, RT Ministry of youth affairs, sport and tourism. The forum was divided into three key parts: Kazan conference “International experience of tourism organization”, conference of business and event tourism “New event – the starting point for tourism development”, and meeting-seminar on inter-regional cooperation of parties to an agreement in the sphere of tourism between regions of Volga Federal District “features of organization and holding major newsworthy events”.
Ildar Khalikov welcomed the participants of the forum “Benchmarks of the future” on behalf of Tatarstan President. “We had to organize this forum earlier for Tatarstan, as the region with developed infrastructure, many objects interesting for tourists”, PM stressed and thanked moderator of the event - Deputy Editor-in-chief of newspaper “Vedomosti” Aleksandr Gubsky who initiated organization of the forum “Benchmarks of the future” in Kazan.
Ildar Khalikov informed total tourist flow in Tatarstan increases by 12 % every year. Volume of rendered tourism services made 5,2 bln roubles and increased 2,4 times since 2005.
Head of RT Government told about projects being realized in Republic - reconstruction of Bolgar and Sviyazhsk, preparation for World Universiade - 2013, World championship in water sports - 2015, and Football championship - 2018. “Much money is being invested in tourism infrastructure. We want it bringing results, for the good of Tatarstan residents and anyone willing to learn about the republican history”, he said.
Ildar Khalikov hopes forum “Benchmarks of the future” will favour solving many problems and traditional meeting area.
On 26 March Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a meeting of the Council by the Russian Presidential Envoy in the Volga Federal District dedicated to rural demographic policy held by the Russian Presidential Envoy in the District Igor Komarov in Nizhniy Novgorod with participation of heads of federal ministries concerned, representatives of the Federal Assembly and heads of federal entities of the Volga Federal District. The participants of the meeting discussed such topics as the demographic situation, implementation of federal programmes and the best regional practices, and the results of the meeting will be used for preparing comprehensive solutions of such tasks set by Russian President Vladimir Putin as preservation of the population, strengthening health, raising prosperity of people and supporting families.
On 24 March, speaking at a briefing on achievements of preventive medicine last year and plans for 2026 held in the Government House of the republic, representatives of Tatarstan Healthcare Ministry said that medical check-ups are proving their effectiveness in preserving the health and lives of residents of the republic.
Thus the regional Healthcare Minister Almir Abashev informed: “Over the past five years, a clear course has been set to ensure that preventative medicine in the country gains momentum. Starting from 2022 the number of people who should have their medical check-ups in this or that year is growing. We are facing a task of covering more than 70 per cent of elderly people with check-ups by 2030.”
On March 10, the third meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the 20th anniversary Russian Venture Forum 2026 to be held in Kazan from April 8 to 10, chaired by Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and co-chair of the forum’s organizing committee Aleksey Pesoshin, President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov, Director of the Investment and Venture Fund of Tatarstan Damir Galiev as well as representatives of federal and regional authorities, development institutions and partner organizations via videoconference, took place.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
