Tatarstan President takes part in III convention of RT entrepreneurs

III convention of RT entrepreneurs opened today in the first exhibition hall of “Kazanskaya Yarmarka”. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, RT Premier Ildar Khalikov, chiefs of republican ministries and departments, and about 1000 businessmen took part in the event.

Before opening the convention Tatarstan President looked over the exhibition representing production of small and medium-size republican enterprises and banking programs of business crediting.

Chief of Investment development agency Linar Yakupov made report about prospects of entrepreneurship development in Tatarstan. He marked the convention is aimed at discussing areas of further development of entrepreneurship.

We remind the first convention of RT entrepreneurs was held in 2003 in Naberezhnye Chelny, the second – in Kazan in 2006. Linar Yakupov supposes during this time small and medium-size business has went through the period of qualitative changes, though there are some problems. He marked today businessmen often raise a problem of efficient interaction with major republican enterprises in particular in terms of providing raw materials.

By the way a number of programs on supporting entrepreneurship is being realized in Republic, - “Leasing grant”, “Nachalo dela (setting up a business)”, “Social business”. Linar Yakupov believes today it is possible to create the whole infrastructure to support business.

Presentation of renewed Portal of entrepreneurship biz.tatar.ru was held within the limits of convention. Priorities of strategic development of entrepreneurship in Tatarstan for 2011-2015 were defined afterwards.

Director of sector “Young professionals” of the Agency of strategic initiatives Dmitry Peskov made a speech at the event.

Summing up, Tatarstan President marked such meetings should be held yearly. Rustam Minnikhanov stated Tatarstan has wide experience in the sphere of entrepreneurship development.

By official data last year the share of small and medium-size business in RT gross regional product makes 24,6 %. It is expected that by 2015 the number will make 34 %.

Head of Republic is sure that the system of interaction with entrepreneurship on public and municipal levels should be changed. He gave assignment to summarize all proposals made at the convention in order to define measures on developing small and medium-size business in Republic by a special resolution of Tatarstan Government.
