Rustam Minnikhanov meets Deputy Director-general of UNESCO on social sciences and humanities Pilar Alvarez-Lazo

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with Deputy Director-general of UNESCO on social sciences and humanities Pilar Alvarez-Lazo.
The meeting took place in RT Government House with participation of Deputy PM, Chairman of RT Commission on UNESCO affairs Zilya Valeeva, Minister of youth affairs, sport and tourism Rafis Burganov, Aide to RT President on social issues, CEO of the Republican Fund of historical and cultural monuments Tatyana Larionova.
The parties discussed expansion of UNITWIN network (UNESCO department) in Tatarstan Republic. Today international department of UNESCO is functioning at the University of Management “TISBI” in the sphere of training and retraining of specialists in the context of market relations.
Moreover, the opportunity of participation in the program of the “Conference of parties to the anti-doping convention” under the auspices of UNESCO is being considered in Tatarstan. Currently 160 countries are members of the Convention, including Russia which ratified Convention in 2006.
We remind Ms Pilar Alvarez-Lazo is in Kazan within the confines of participation in the international research and practice conference "Gender equality and bioethics".
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
