Rockwool plant to be launched at SEZ Alabuga in the beginning of 2012

The construction of plant of heat-insulating materials of Rockwool company at special economic zone Alabuga is drawing towards completion. Issues of preparation for production startup were discussed today at a meeting of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnkhanov with CEO of Rockwool Russia Group Nick Vince in RT Government House.
Opening the meeting Rustam Minnkhanov marked Rockwool company is one of the main residents of SEZ Alabuga. It became one of the first resident companies of special economic zone, and the plant of heat-insulating materials is a trademark of SEZ. Tatarstan President reminded production of heat-insulating materials fits into the energy-saving program well.
The production capacity of new enterprise will make about 110 thousand tons of heat-insulating materials based on rockwool per year. Head of Republic highlighted the first launching complex will ensure production of 11 % of the total volume of the Russian heat-insulating market.
Nick Vince said Rockwool company decided to become a resident of SEZ Alabuga when special economic zone was just being created. Funding of the plant construction was not stopped even during the crisis period. All equipment has now been delivered to the enterprise and it is currently being installed. Staff recruitment is being realized as well.
By words of Nick Vince the first commercial output can be produced at the plant in the beginning of 2012. Head of Rockwool Russia Group thanked Tatarstan leadership and personally the President for attention and support given to the company.
In the course of meeting parties discussed some issues connected with preparation of production startup. Rustam Minnkhanov assured Nick Vince that republican leadership is ready to continue supporting the company in its activity implemented in Tatarstan.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
