Rustam Minnikhanov: Experience of Tyrol in holding sports events is interesting for us

The experience of Austrian province Tyrol in holding major sports events can be interesting for Tatarstan, RT President Rustam Minnikhanov stated at a meeting with Governor of federal state Tyrol Günther Platter.
The capital of Tyrol – Innsbruck is known as a big ski resort. The city hosted Winter Olympic games twice, in 1964 and 1976. Besides, World winter universiade was held here in 1968. In January 2012 Tyrol will host first winter junior Olympic games – competitions among sportsmen aged 14-18. The event will be held under the auspices of International Olympic Committee.
In the course of meeting with the governor of Tyrol Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Günther Platter for warm reception. Tatarstan President informed people in Republic await major sports events, i.e. Universiade, world championship in water sports, world football championship. “I believe we can adopt your experience in organizing such competitions”, Rustam Minnikhanov addressed Günther Platter.
Head of Tatarstan informed as well Tatarstan and Austrian companies already have some contacts in economic sector. In particular, parties have agreed on creating automated traffic control system in Kazan. Cooperation in the sphere of glass processing is also under consideration.
Also Rustam Minnikhanov visited Swarovski museum in Innsbruck today.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
