Rustam Minnikhanov visits Gdansk Science&Technology Park

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov has visited Gdansk Science&Technology Park in the context of his working visit to Poland.
Director of Department for external relations- Aide to RT President on international issues Iskander Muflikhanov, Chief of RT investment development agency Linar Yakupov, Director-general of ZAO “Innovative production technopark “Idea” Sergey Yushko are on Tatarstan delegation.
The Science&Technology Park was presented to Tatarstan delegation.
Gdansk Science&Technology Park (GSTP) named after Professor Hilari Koprovski is included into Pomeranian Special economic zone (PSEZ) and is a joint enterprise of Pomeranian Special economic zone, Pomeranian Voivodeship, Gdansk city and Gdansk technology university. Construction of the park started in 2006 and it was opened in 2008. Currently works on expanding infrastructure are being implemented.
The idea of interaction between science, business and government institutions was the basis for creating a park. Today it is a complex comprised of offices, research laboratories, production halls and business incubator. Main areas of activity are biotechnologies, biomedicine, IT, electronics, energetics. The number of employees is more than 150 people. A data center with a capacity of 1 MW is also functioning here.
Rustam Minnikhanov appreciated the fact of having a kindergarten for children of employees of Gdansk Science&Technology Park.
A company engaged in organization of scientific work for the youth was also presented to Head of Tatarstan.
Rustam Minnikhanov believes it is important to establish cooperation between Gdansk Science&Technology Park and Innovative production technopark “Idea”, exchange experience, adopt technologies of development and use of infrastructure of technoparks in order to increase the number of innovative companies.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
