Rustam Minnikhanov meets with Marshal of Pomeranian Voivodeship Mieczyslaw Struk

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with Marshal (governor) of Pomeranian Voivodeship Mieczyslaw Struk on December 7 in Gdansk.
The meeting was held in a building of Marshal Department of Pomeranian Voivodeship.
Tatarstan delegation was presented by Director of Department for external relations- Aide to RT President on international issues Iskander Muflikhanov, Chief of RT investment development agency Linar Yakupov, and Director-general of ZAO “Innovative production technopark “Idea” Sergey Yushko.
Rustam Minnikhanov expressed gratitude for invitation to visit the capital of Pomeranian Voivodeship – the city of Gdansk in order to get familiar with history, economy and culture of the region.
He reminded as well Tatarstan delegation had already visited Tatar people’s centre of culture of Poland Republic in Gdansk, met with members of Tatar community, and laid flowers at the monument to Polish Tatars which was unveiled in November last year.
RT President highly appreciated opportunity of cooperation between Tatarstan and Pomeranian Voivodeship within the framework of development of Russian-Polish relationships. He marked for 9 months of 2011 commodity turnover between Tatarstan and Poland exceeded 3 bln US dollars.
Rustam Minnikhanov believes trade-economic and cultural cooperation between two regions should be developed. Tatarstan is ready to establish mutually beneficial relations, he said.

Pomeranian Voivodeship is located in the North of Poland, by the Baltic Sea. The Voivodeship numbers 2,2 mln citizens and occupies the area of 18 thousand km². The capital is Gdansk city.
Main economic sectors in the region are sea farming, fuel and chemistry industries, mechanical engineering, building, agricultural and food industries, furniture and clothes production, electric and energy industries, agriculture, fishery and fish breeding, trade.
On 4 May at a briefing held in the Tatarstan Government House it was told that currently there are 92 combat veterans, the last witnesses of the Great Patriotic War (WW II) of 1941-1945, living in the republic. The briefing also informed about veterans’ support measures and how the republic is planning to celebrate the Victory Day on 9 May.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva told that names of 353 Heroes of the Soviet Union from Tatarstan “ are immortalized in street names, on memorials, in monuments and squares and, of course, in our memory”. “The Victory Day is the day of memory, mourning and joy. It is the event which today should be clearly understandable to all young people and younger generation of Tatarstan,” she said.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
On 21 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin said that slightly more than one week is left to file an income tax return for 2025 with the tax service. According to the results of the tax campaign 5.5.bn rubles should come to the regional budget, he said and informed who should submit declarations and who is entitled to benefits.
