Aleksey Pesoshin holds a meeting of the Organizing Committee for the Year of Leo Tolstoy in Tatarstan

On March 22, in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a meeting of the Organizing Committee for the Year of Leo Tolstoy in Tatarstan. On September 21, 2017, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov signed Decree, declaring 2018 the Year of Leo Tolstoy in Tatarstan. Later, the composition of the Organizing Committee was approved and the plan of measures was scheduled.

Making a keynote report, Minister of Education and Science of the republic Rafis Burganov gave details of the plan of activities as part of the Year of Leo Tolstoy in Tatarstan. The format envisages holding a number of events in Tatarstan. The events are planned to be held in the republic in the period from April to December of the current.

Burganov also added that issue of establishing the Leo Tolstoy Prize in Literature, Culture, Literary Studies in two nominations was worked out, a monetary award for the Prize laureates was determined
