RT Minister of transport: Tatarstan carriers ready to decrease tariffs

Adoption of a transport card is planned for the first quarter of 2012 in Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Almetievsk, Zelenodolsk towns (the Republic of Tatarstan), RT Minister of transport and road construction Lenar Safin stated at a briefing in RT Cabinet. The decision was made in the course of meeting held by RT President Rustam Minnikhanov.
“We have analyzed the situation and we believe this measure will help maintaining personalized recording of reduced –fare citizens on transport in municipalities. We hope it will be very convenient for this category of citizens. In this context advantages of the Kazan city are obvious for transport cards have been launched here much earlier”, the Minister informed.
According to the data of OOO “Transport card” and the number of sold social travel cards, only 16,5 % of privileged citizens use these cards. Total number of citizens related to this category is 1 mln 95 thousand 245 people.
By words of Lenar Safin, from February,1 reduced –fare citizens will be able to travel on public transport using social travel cards.
We remind in connection with multiple appeals of citizens regarding travel restrictions on public transport Tatarstan President held a working meeting on issues of privileged travelling on passenger transport in RT. Finally the right of unlimited travelling on public transport for privileged categories of citizens was restored. Extra funds to compensate unplanned expenses for transportation of privileged citizens will be allocated to Tatarstan transport companies.
In connection with the decision to increase the volume of allocated republican funds for compensation of unplanned expenses of transport enterprises the control over observance of technical and sanitary regulations on public transport will be intensified. Much emphasis will be put on the exterior and interior of transport vehicles, quality of rendered services and the level of traffic safety.
Average rate of wear of vehicles involved in passenger transportations at republican transport enterprises make 65%, in some municipal regions the parameter reached 90 %. No doubt, it influences the quality of services and efficiency of enterprises.
Lenar Safin informed as well that Tatarstan carriers are ready to decrease tariffs for passenger transportations.

On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
On 31 March in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva hold a meeting of the Commission on the Russian language under the Rais of Tatarstan, which considered key issues of supporting and developing Russian language, including new educational initiatives and discussed programmes of popularization of Russian literature and activities to preserve the language heritage.
