Rustam Minnikhanov: Investigation department of RF Investigation committee on RT achieved considerable results

The Investigation department of RF Investigation committee on RT achieved considerable results within one year of existence of the Russian Investigation Committee. Such statement was today made by the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov at an extended session of Investigation department of RF Investigation committee on RT.

The Head of Investigation department Pavel Nikolaev reported on results of the institution’s activity. He informed in 2011 employees of the department investigated cases of more than 1200 grave and gravest crimes. 176 crimes of previous years have been revealed, more than 2000 cases taken to court.

The investigation department registered about 20 000 messages about crimes in 2011. However, criminal cases were opened only by 13 % of these appeals. Therefore, Head of the department urged to make registration of such appeals more properly.

Tatarstan Prosecutor Kafil Amirov focused on several shortcomings in activity of the investigation department and proposed ways to remove them.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov in his turn commented on results of activity of Investigation committee on RT and focused on future goals. He noted 2011 was quite a successful year for Republic. By the main parameters Tatarstan is now among leading regions in Russia.

“Quality of life of Tatarstaners is the main criterion of our activity. Work of all law enforcement bodies is aimed at realization of the common goal”, Rustam Minnikhanov stressed. He noted with satisfaction that the crime rate in Republic was lower in 2011 than the average level for the country and Volga federal district as a whole.

Tatarstan President called 2011 a significant year for investigation bodies of Russian Federation since RF investigation committee has obtained the status of an independent structure.

“For a short period of time Investigation committee on RT achieved considerable results”, Rustam Minnikhanov said. Efficiency of crime appeals processing has increased, investigation parameters of corruption, grave and gravest crimes are rather optimistic. RT President considers improvement of the quality of investigation of criminal cases to be an important fact as well.

According to Rustam Minnikhanov the investigation department has in general coped with all the tasks and is said to be one of the best territorial subdivisions in Russia.

Rustam Minnikhanov also focused on main objectives of the department for 2012. Investigation of grave and gravest crimes, crimes against juveniles must be a priority activity as usual, RT President stressed. Anti-corruption activity is also an important mission of republican law enforcement bodies.

“Corruption crimes affect all citizens, blacken the work of state and municipal authorities, undermine authority of power and destroy image of the country”, Rustam Minnikhanov stated.

Tatarstan President urged the investigation department to use all opportunities for bringing to justice all persons who promote extremism, spread national and religious hatred and hostility. By words of Tatarstan President, attention to details must not leave out fairness and tactfulness.

“Citizens’ trust lays enormous responsibility on you. You should remember it”, Tatarstan President said wishing the staff new professional achievements. Finally Head of Republic granted several awards to employees of the Investigation department of RF Investigation committee on RT.
