Iskander Muflikhanov : Enterprises of Europe and Asia are interested in economic contacts with Tatarstan

We remind that RT delegation headed by RT President R.N. Minnikhanov stayed in Davos on January 26- 28, 2012. Rustam Minnikahnov was accompanied by Director of foreign relations department - aide to RT President on international issues Iskander Muflikhanoov, Tatneft director general Shafagat Takhautdinov, KAMAZ director general Sergei Kogogin and others. The main theme of the forum -2012 became global transformations in the world economy, eurozone crisis.

Aide to RT President briefly told about 42d session of the forum in Davos and its key speakers.

This year more 2,6 ths. representatives of power structures, business-elites and public organizations took part in the forum.

The key reports at the forum -2012 were made by Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, UK Premier David Cameron and others.

Russia was represented by first vice RF Government Chairman Igor Shuvalov, RF ex-minister of finance Alexei Kudrin, VTB chief Andrei Kostin, RF Sber bank Board chairman German Gref and others.

By words of Iskander Muflikhanov, Tatarstan takes part in World economic forum already the fifth time. First time, the republic’s delegation visited Davos in year 2007.

Since that time the interest to Tatarstan as one of the dynamically progressing regions of Russia has been growing.

Iskander Muflikhanov noted that knowledge about Russia in the world is still poor, the foreigners are aware only of Moscow and St. Petersburg.

A big role in recognition of the Republic and its capital Kazan is due to preparation for holding in 2013 the World student sport games and holding world championship on aquatics’ sports in 2015, matches of the football world championship in 2018.

Besides, Iskander Muflikhanov mentioned that in summer 2012 the events are to take place in Kazan within holding ATEC summit in Russia

In particular Kazan will host nearly 40 measures including meeting of ATEC trade ministers.

Responding the questions from mass media representatives on what specific agreements have been reached during the meetings in Davos, Iskander Muflikahnov informed the following.

In year 2011 in Davos, upon negotiations of Rustam Minnikhanov and Boschung company executives a joint venture was set up with participation of Boschung holding and KAMAZ. As a result on the basis of JSC KAMAZ the production has been launched on perfecting Boschung communal engineering in conformity with climatic conditions of Russia.

Current winter, Iskander Muflikhanov noted, we can see the results of joint work – snow removing machinery made by JV Boschung –KAMAZ is operating in Kazan clearing motor ways.

Besides, aide to RT reminded that within the forum a meeting took place and negotiations were held between Rustam Minnikahnov and Coca- concern top management.

The cooperation keeps going and Coca - Cola plans to be a leading partner of the Universiade-2013.

Iskander Muflikhanov informed also that directorate of Universiade 2013 representatives were likewise at the Davos, but they worked on separate program.

He did not disclose the achieved agreements but mentioned that a number of companies confirmed their involvement in partnership within the Universaide -2103.

Regarding Davos -2012, Rustam Minnikhanov held negotiations at the forum with companies «Philips Electronics », «Boschung » (on further projects), «Federal Mogul » , «Pricewaterhouse Coopers » and others.

Iskander Muflikhanov recalled the journalists that today in Tatarstan over 600 enterprises with foreign companies have been registered (JV or with 100 percent foreign capital).
