Rustam Minnikhanov: mass media is a very important industry in our work

In the context of political events happening in our country it is important for people to have opportunity to retrieve objective information, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov stated at an extended meeting of Republican agency for press and mass communications “on outcomes of work of mass media industry in 2011 and tasks for 2012” in Kazan.
Rustam Minnikhanov said professionals who convey information properly will always be in in demand. “We worry about negative things, extremism, that come together with information and influence the youth badly. Our youth is today Internet-oriented. I think young people should get information from various sources”, RT President said.
“The country is changing. Information is now being conveyed in a different way. We have to feel comfortable about it. These changes must not bring any troubles. There should always be an interaction between authorities and people with other viewpoints. In this context mass media play a very important role. Therefore, representatives of mass media must be sensible of civil responsibility before Republic and the whole country, convey different points of view, and give right grounds”, Rustam Minnikhanov said.
RT President stressed the project “TNV-planet” which is to be launched on August, 30, 2012 and Tatar content on TV are rather important.
Rustam Minnikhanov also focused on necessity to improve professional skills of journalists via various up-to-date programs and courses.
“I hope we will continue working together in a constructive way. We face a lot of tasks to be fulfilled. We have to understand and support each other”, Rustam Minnikhanov said.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
