Ildar Khalikov: Development of archive-keeping will be more important in 2012

Collegium of the main archive department under RT Cabinet on results of work of archive institutions for 2011 and tasks for 2012 was held today in Kazan. Tatarstan PM Ildar Khalikov attended the event.
Head of the department Danil Ibragimov told about achievements, objectives and problems of the institution. He informed employees continue working on transfer to rendering services in electronic format. The work on improving material and technical base of archives was fulfilled last year.
Speaking about problems Head of Department informed ensuring fire safety of archives (about 15 mln roubles are required for installing automated gas fire-fighting equipment) and shortage of free area are currently very urgent problems. Danil Ibragimov believes construction of attached block near the archive building on Dekabristov Street will help solving the last problem.
Moreover, an Australian investment construction holding “Strabag” represented by Russian representative is ready to take part in construction of this building and render assistance on attracting foreign investments in the project.
Employees of archive department worry about frequent cases of notifications about absence of documents by personnel of bankrupt organizations and “abandoned” archives of liquidated organizations.
Danil Ibragimov addressed the audience noting that more than 2 000 archive units in state archives of Tatarstan need to be restored.
Employees of archive institutions put high hopes on a complex program on preservation of cultural heritage “Miras-heritage” for 2012-2016 to be approved this year so that they will refill RT Archive fund with new valuable unique documents and restore the old ones.
Head of the department focused on urgent need for safe protected storage for digital information of great volume and great computing capacities for processing and cataloging of this information.
Summing up, Ildar Khalikov thanked the staff of archive institutions for their work noting that improvement of archive-keeping would be more priority in 2012.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
