Rustam Minnikhanov: State of transport complex predetermines development of the republican economy

RT Minister of transport and road construction Lenar Safin initiated creation of an innovative technopark “Volga road polygon” on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. The statement was made by the minister at an extended board session of RT Ministry of transport and road construction on February, 11.
The session took place in KRK “Korston” with participation of the Russian minister of transport Igor Levitin, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Russian minister of transport Viktor Olersky, and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
Making the main report at the session Lenar Safin informed that the creation of an innovative technopark “Volga road polygon” would enable implementing testing of the roadbed in certain climate conditions, research activity, etc. The expected area of polygon is 385 hectares, the estimated cost – 800 mln roubles.
RT Minister of transport and road construction reported on results of the ministry’s work in 2011. He told as well about the project of intermodal transport from the airport to the railway station “Kazan” that is being realized with JSC “RZHD” (Russian railways) in order to provide availability of international airport “Kazan”. More than 6 bln roubles are to be drawn in 2012 for the project implementation.
The project of intermodal transport is planned to be finished in 2012. Hence, railway station “Kazan-1” will become a high-functional transport connection hub.
Lenar Safin also told about the project “Organization of public railway service on the circular route.
Construction of rural roads is considered to be an important project as well.
Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin reported on preparation of objects of the transport complex for XXVII World summer Universiade-2013.
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that transport complex is one of the main spheres in ensuring life support in the Republic of Tatarstan.
State of transport complex predetermines development of the republican economy, Rustam Minnikhanov said. He thanked the Russian minister of transport Igor Levitin for attention paid to problems the republic. “Work on modernization of transport complex that is currently being implemented in Tatarstan and Kazan is very significant, the republican history has never enjoyed such changes,” Rustam Minnikhanov stated. He considers modernization of international airport “Kazan” and construction of Sviyazhsk multimodal logistics center to be serious projects realized in transport sphere.
“Realization of all these major projects would not be possible without integral state policy. Purposeful work of the federal center enables realizing considerable tasks on modernization of transport complex and development of republican economy,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
On 31 March in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva hold a meeting of the Commission on the Russian language under the Rais of Tatarstan, which considered key issues of supporting and developing Russian language, including new educational initiatives and discussed programmes of popularization of Russian literature and activities to preserve the language heritage.
