13 February 2012, Monday
Results of 2011 were summarized in Zelenodolsk region of the Republic of Tatarstan at XVI session of the region’s council. President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov attended the session.
Head of the region Sergey Batin noted that the region’s economy is dynamically developing, “due to use of internal reserves of enterprises and systematic work aimed at renewal of business image of our region and creation of favourable investment climate,” he said.
“Owing to a serious support of the republican and federal government we managed to overcome consequences of financial crisis which had much affected the industrial sphere. A stable growth of industrial production has been observed within the last two years,” Sergey Batin informed.
It was possible to avoid global layoff of workers at enterprises and organizations. The only exception was Sergo plant where the decrease of output by state defense order and timeless funding led to dismissal of 630 workers.
As for Zelenodolsk plant named after Gorky the production volume has considerably increased.
The program of children’s production delivery of Zelenodolsk milk complex was also mentioned at the session.
Within the last two years more than 3 bln roubles have been drawn during construction of Sviyazhsk interregional multimodal logistics center.
Reconstruction of Romanovsky bridge across Volga with total volume of investments 5 bln roubles has started.
The trade exhibition complex “New Tura” providing 20 000 jobs was presented last year.
The project on creating astro-park is being realized on the base of observatory named after Engelgard.
Moreover, the project “Innovative-industrial park M-7” is being implemented in Novonikolaevsky settlement. About 100 small and medium-size manufacturing enterprises providing 6 thousand jobs will be located on its territory.
“Due to our joint work our region has become investment-attractive. In the context of modern market-oriented economy it is the main factor of efficient development,” head of the region said.
“In spite of many positive changes bad material-technical state of educational institutions is worth worrying about. 35 mln roubles were allocated for these purposes in 2011. However, it is just a drop in the ocean. We thank the republican leadership for understanding acuteness of the problem and the beginning of realization of the program on major repair of schools," Sergey Batin said.
