Vladimir Putin: “KAMAZ” is a mark of our special pride

The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has today visited an assembly line of the auto plant JSC “KAMAZ” and took part in a solemn ceremony dedicated to the production of a 2-millionth truck during his working trip in Naberezhnye Chelny.
Head of RF Government was accompanied by the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Chairman of RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin.
In a workshop of the auto plant Vladimir Putin reviewed the output of the enterprise and latest developments.
Addressing the workers Vladimir Putin reminded that during the crisis period many predicted collapse of the whole auto industry of the country.
“Within four decades “KAMAZ” has experienced many hardships. However, you successfully overcame them. Due to your talent, industriousness, belief in your own strength and your enterprise and country KAMAZ recovered previous production parameters and reached new level,” RF Prime Minister stated.
In opinion of the PM the fact of KAMAZ output being exported proves high quality of production. By words of Vladimir Putin achievements of racing crews on Dakar rally is a mark of special pride of the Russians.
He congratulated all workers of the Russian auto industry on production of a 2-millionth truck.
JSC “KAMAZ” is one of the leading producers of trucks of more than 30 main models and 400 modifications, diesel and gas engines, repair parts and auto components. About 50 000 people work at “KAMAZ” plants in Naberezhnye Chelny. 45200 were produced at KAMAZ in 2011.
For the first time within the last few years the enterprise has enjoyed a profit in of 990 mln roubles, instead of the loss of 2,2 bln roubles in 2010.
Main conveyor of the auto plant started working 36 years ago-on February, 16, 1976. First million of trucks were produced in October 1988.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
