The conference of RT judges is being held today in Kazan. RT Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov takes part in the event.
Making the report on fulfilled work Chairman of the republican Supreme Court Ilgiz Gilazov informed that last year 728 thousand 397 cases were considered by courts of general jurisdiction. The decrease of criminal cases was observed in 2011. 19 thousand 955 people were convicted by courts of general jurisdiction (RT Supreme Court, regional and city courts and justice of peace). The number of convicts has decreased by 10,9 % in comparison with 2010.
Speaking before judges Ildar Khalikov said he is sure that all decisions made and discussed at today’s conference will increase the quality of judicial system in general. RT Prime Minister focused on two important factors - building of trust and respect to courts.
“The quality of legal process is in the foreground. It is composed of several factors – good legal education, high professional skills and spotless reputation. Improvement of approaches to formation of judicial personnel is one of reserves. Future judge must be competent in basic legislative principles and be able of enforcing the law properly,” Ildar Khalikov said.
Head of Tatarstan Government urged judges to appear before mass media more often, deliver public lectures in order to inform citizens about judicial positions and legal procedures, meet with students and take part in discussions with citizens.
Ildar Khalikov addressed judges with requirement to create such conditions so that Tatarstaners would not need to address international courts noting that by results of 2011 Russia has become the leader by the number of complaints directed to European Court of Human Rights.
Head of Government also focused on adoption of information technologies in the industry and asked to prepare suggestions on this matter.
Finally the PM stressed that the republican leadership appreciates the work of judicial sector. On behalf of RT President Ildar Khalikov thanked judges for work and granted awards.

On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
On 31 March in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva hold a meeting of the Commission on the Russian language under the Rais of Tatarstan, which considered key issues of supporting and developing Russian language, including new educational initiatives and discussed programmes of popularization of Russian literature and activities to preserve the language heritage.
