Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in festive event dedicated to Mawlid

A festive event dedicated to Mawlid, the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad was held in Tatar state theatre of drama and comedy named after K.Tinchurin (Kazan) on February, 20. President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the event.

The Head of Central Muslim religious board of Russia Talgat Tadzhuddin, mufti of RT Ildus hazrat Faizov, Chief of RT Presidential department on interaction with religious organizations Marat Gatin, representatives of RT President’s Staff, deputies of RT State Council, employees of RT Cabinet, religious and public figures of Tatarstan and neighboring regions. The event was organized by RT Muslim religious board.

Various events dated to the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad were held in all regions of the republic.

Traditions of celebrating Mawlid are reviving among Muslims of Russia and Tatarstan. A festive event in K.Tinchurin theatre is the central event of the Mawlid month in our republic. This evening summarizes all actions which were held in mosques, educational institutions in all RT regions.

Mufti of RT Ildus hazrat Faizov made a speech before a numerous audience. He noted that Mawlid an-Nabi is a big holiday. He reminded as well that RT Muslim religious board announced 2012 the year of Koran.

Head of Central Muslim religious board of Russia congratulated participants of the event on the holiday. He noted that events dated to the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad are held throughout the country and abroad.
