Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin visits 19th regional festival of christened Tatars culture “Pitrau”

On July 14, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin arrived on a working visit in Mamadysh region to take part in the 19th regional festival of christened Tatars (Kryashens) “Pitrau”.

Pesoshin welcomed the participants and guests of the event and on behalf of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, State Council of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev and Tatarstan Government, he congratulated all gathered on this holiday.

Before the event, Pesoshin together with Head of Mamadysh region Anatoly Ivanov and Chairman of the Society of the Kryashens of the republic opened the multifunctional cultural centre in the village of Zuri.

He also handed over state awards of the Republic of Tatarstan to the most outstanding representatives of christened Tatars.

Pitrau holiday is a unique opportunity to get acquainted with ancient traditions, with ceremonies of the Kryashens and with works of arts and crafts masters.

The programme of the festival included horse racings.
