Aleksey Pesoshin opens the AKTO Trade Exhibition for Aerospace Technologies

On August 9, at the Kazanskaya Yarmarka (“Kazan Fair”) Exhibition Centre, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in the opening ceremony of the ninth International specialized exhibition of equipment, materials and technologies for aviation, aircraft engineering and space «Aerospace Technologies, Modern Materials and Equipment» (AKTO).

"This exhibition demonstrates the development of advanced technologies in the domestic aerospace industry, determines the priority areas of scientific and technological development," Pesoshin said in his speech.

He stressed that today Tatarstan is a dynamically developing Russian region, where issues related to support and development of the aircraft building industry are addressed in a comprehensive manner.

"A powerful cluster has been created in the republic, including secondary and higher educational institutions, research institutes, development bureaus, large aviation enterprises, such as Kazan Aircraft Plant named after Gorbunov and Kazan Helicopter Plant. Starting from school, we bring up scientists, designers, aircraft builders and pilots. Tatarstan has a significant potential for generating new breakthrough ideas and creating promising technologies,” the Prime Minister added.

The exhibition presents unique modern technologies, materials and equipment in such areas as aircraft and helicopter engineering, small aircraft, aircraft engine building, aviation instrumentation, high-precision and science-intensive equipment, maintenance of aircrafts of the aviation and rocket and space branch of industry of Russia and Belarus.

Leading aviation research institutes and universities of Russia are traditionally taking part in the exhibition.
