Rustam Minnikhanov: Work of enterprises of housing and utilities sector is an important factor for population in terms of assessing authorities’ activity

“Work of enterprises of housing and utilities sector is an important factor for population in terms of assessing authorities’ activity,” President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated at a republican extended meeting dedicated to outcomes of programs on housing and utilities reform of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The meeting was held in GTRK “Korston” (Kazan). A webcast was provided for Internet users on the official Portal of RT Government www.prav.tatarstan.ru .
Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that according to results of recent surveys made by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center citizens of the country consider housing and utilities sector to be the most stirring theme. Health care is the next sphere of concern. Education, crime rate and situation in the army are also very important sectors.
Management for housing and utilities sector is the biggest project in the sphere of private-state partnership in modern Russia, Rustam Minnikhanov said. The project is regulated by the federal law №185. The Housing and Utilities Reform Fund was founded in 2007 in the country to support the housing and utilities reform.
To the point, in the context of the federal law №185 “On the Housing and Utilities Reform Fund” 26,3 bln roubles have been attracted to housing and utilities sector in Tatarstan since 2008. More than 9 thousand multi-apartment houses underwent major repair. Head of republic marked that activity of the Housing and Utilities Reform Fund was continued till 2016 according to requests of regions.
Tatarstan minister of construction, architecture, housing and utilities Irek Faizullin presented main report at the meeting.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
