Rustam Minnikhanov meets with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Russian Federation Ajai Malhotra

President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Russian Federation Ajai Malhotra.
The meeting was held in the Kazan Kremlin with participation of RT Minister of industry and trade Ravil Zaripov, RT Minister of youth affairs, sport and tourism Rafis Burganov, RT Minister of culture Airat Sibagatullin, and Director of the Department for external relations under RT President – Aide to RT President on international issues Iskander Muflikhanov.
Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed officials of the Republic of India on Tatarstan land. “We have many interesting areas for interaction. I think we have not revealed our cooperation potential in full. Tatarstan citizens are extremely interested in your country,” he said.
In opinion of Rustam Minnikhanov, the dialogue of cultures is a very urgent issue in modern world. Representatives of more than 100 nationalities live in Tatarstan and almost all confessions are presented here, he marked. “We live in peace and harmony and I believe that it is one of the main principles enabling stable development,” the Tatarstan President said.
Later on the parties discussed issues of further interaction in such spheres as mechanical engineering, chemistry, IT, education and culture.
To the point, the Memorandum on mutual understanding was signed on March, 13 with Kazan (Volga) Federal University.
Ajai Malhotra is expected to visit RT Ministry of youth affairs, sport and tourism in order to discuss prospects of cooperation in the sphere of tourism.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
