Mintimer Shaimiev holds meeting on issue of installing the sculpture “Guardian” in Bolgar

State Counselor of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of Supervisory board of the Republican fund of historical and cultural monuments Mintimer Shaimiev held a meeting on issue of installing the sculpture “Guardian” in Bolgar in the context of project “Cultural heritage of Tatarstan: old town of Bolgar and island town Sviyazhsk”.
The meeting was initiated after the decision about installing the sculpture of a winged panther (the symbol of statehood of Volga Bulgars) created by a talented and world-known master Dashi Namdakov arose stormy discussion in the Internet.
Chairman of RT Muslim religious board Ildus hazrat Faizov, Director of the history institute named after Sh.Marjani of RT Academy of sciences Rafael Khakimov, Director of State history and architecture art museum “the Kazan Kremlin” Ramil Khairutdinov, Director of the department of history of Kazan (Volga) Federal University of RT Academy of sciences Indus Tagirov, chief of academic department of RT Muslim religious board Valiulla Yakupov, Chief research worker of the Center of archeological research of the history institute named after Sh.Marjani of RT Academy of sciences Fayaz Khuzin, member of the World Congress of Tatars Rimzil Valeev attended the meeting.
After discussion the attendees of the meeting came to the conclusion that the sculpture would be installed outside the area where Muslim sacred objects are located, on the bank of the Volga River, on the observation area of the Museum of Bolgar civilization.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
