10 April 2012, Tuesday
Members of the Luxemburg Chamber of Commerce are deeply interested in developing relations with the Republic of Tatarstan and are willing to acquaint with Tatarstan companies. Such a statement was made by a member of the Luxemburg Chamber of Commerce Board Steve Breer at the Tatarstan- Luxemburg round table.
The round table was organized within the working trip of the Tatarstan delegation led by the President Rustam Minnikhanov to Luxemburg (April 9-10, 2012).
Steve Breer told about the history of the Luxemburg Chamber of Commerce. The chamber was founded two years after creation of the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg by order to the king William II in October 1841. Today there are more than 50 thousand members in the organization (75 % of total number of jobs) and makes 80 % of Luxemburg GDP.
“The Luxemburg Chamber of Commerce is a state institution working with all business sectors except for agriculture. It acts as a mediator between state and private companies,” Steve Breer said.
According to Steve Breer, the organization strives for expanding foreign contacts but relations with Russia are not well-developed yet. Thus, cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan as one of the Russian regions seems to be very promising.
