21 April 2012, Saturday
Chiefs of the Tatarstan municipal formations and republican authorities must analyze facts of purchasing flats at the secondary market by veterans of Great Patriotic War to offer worthy variants of new housing. Such a statement was made by the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov at a republican meeting in format of video conference.
17159 veterans participating in the housing program have now been registered in Tatarstan. 1,5 thousand veterans have not received subsidies yet. 1,5 bln roubles of federal funds are needed for these purposes.
Chief of the Department for construction, transport, housing and road facilities of the RT Cabinet Staff Ildar Sibgatullin informed that in 16 municipalities more than 70 % of veterans had preferred purchasing housing at the secondary market rather than constructing a new one within the programs of State housing fund and Chief investment and construction Directorate.
According to municipal heads, veterans choose housing at the secondary market since it is cheaper. Besides, many of them wish to move to another region.
The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized the need to offer new good houses to veterans. He also gave assignment to analyze facts of purchasing housing at the secondary market properly and help veterans in moving to other settlements if they want to.
