Rustam Minnikhanov meets with CEO of big international advertising agency

The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with the founder and chief of the international advertising agency WPP Martin Sorell and member of WPP supervisory board Ms Esther Dyson.
Vice-premier – RT Communications Minister Nikolai Nikiforov, Director of the Department for external relations – Aide to RT President Iskander Muflikhanov, Chief of the Executive office Universiade-2013 Vladimir Leonov attended the meeting.
Martin Sorell is the founder and chief of the world’s biggest advertising agency WPP – the international company with 2400 offices and 150 000 employees in 107 countries all over the world.
Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed Mr Martin Sorell and Ms Esther Dyson in the capital of Tatarstan. He reminded of their previous meeting in Swiss Davos where Rustam Minnikhanov invited Mr Sorell and Ms Dyson to visit Kazan.
The Tatarstan President told about republic’s development, major projects under implementation. Rustam Minnikhanov considers poor awareness of foreign investors about business opportunities in Russia to be a problem obstructing the investment flow in Tatarstan.
Martin Sorell informed that WPP can favor promotion of Tatarstan at the global arena. The advertising agency has established strong relationships with oil corporations, IT companies. Moreover, WPP enjoys ties in the sphere of sport. According to the WPP’s chief the company is ready to promote Tatarstan’s brand as an investment-attractive region.
The RT President supported the partnership proposal of Mr Sorell.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
