Rustam Minnikhanov meets with director of educational programs EF English First Christopher McCormick

President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has met with Chief of the Department for cooperation with Cambridge University Christopher McCormick.
The meeting was held at the RT Government House with participation of RT Minister of education and science Albert Gilmutdinov, Director of the Department for external relations – Aide to RT President Iskander Muflikhanov.
The parties discussed issues of further cooperation in the sphere of education.
Rustam Minnikhanov marked that the work implemented by EF English First in republic is highly in demand. “We consider learning of languages one of priority tasks. It is especially important for our youth, students and pupils,” he said.
In October 2011 EF English First signed the agreement with the RT Ministry of education and science which gave impetus to realization of a major educational program on learning English by teachers, heads of ministries and agencies of RT, volunteers, students and pupils. The global purpose of cooperation between EF and Tatarstan is creation of favorable information environment for increasing people’s interest in learning the English language.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
