Ildar Khalikov: We cannot endure current statistics of industrial injuries

The situation in the sphere of labor protection is not improving and requires profound changing of approaches to solving current problems from the republican leadership and all structures concerned. Such a statement was made by the Tatarstan PM Ildar Khalikov at an extended session of the Republican interdepartmental commission for labor protection.
RT Prime Minister informed that the number of fatal accidents at production sites increased twice in the first quarter. The amount of employees who got badly injured has not practically reduced.
In accordance with the data given by Ildar Khalikov, due to consequences of industrial injuries more than 2,5 thousand people of working age have professional diseases, disability and degree of loss of occupational capacity. Because of loss of 100 thousand working days, the Fund of social insurance allocated more than 48 mln roubles for payment of sick-leave certificates.
Ildar Khalikov emphasized that legislation in the sphere of labor protection must be improved.
The Tatarstan PM considers poor funding of labor protection measures one of the main reasons leading to accidents. “Current problems confirm serious shortcomings in control and management systems, incomplete performance of tasks by state and supervision authorities,” Ildar Khalikov stated.
The PM addressed relevant ministries with requirement to hold meetings on issues of labor protection, visit palaces and analyze every accident properly.
RT Minister of labor, employment and social protection Airat Shafigullin informed that 115 people died due to accidents at enterprises and organizations in 2011.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “

There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
