FISU President Claude-Louis Gallien: We consider preparation for Universiade in terms of sports heritage

Organizers of summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan realize what sport offers for young people today, FISU President Claude-Louis Gallien stated in Kazan today.
To the point, the session of the FISU Executive committee is held in Kazan with participation of Tatarstan leadership, first FISU vice-president, President of the Russian student sports union Oleg Matytsyn, FISU Secretary general Eric Saintrond, directors of summer and winter Universiades, members of the FISU Executive committee, chiefs of national and international organizations, unions and sports federations.
The session of the FISU Executive committee is held in the Tatarstan capital for the first time (May 11-13, 2012).
Reports of organizing committees of forthcoming World student sports games including the report on preparation for XXVII World summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan will be heard during the session. Members of organizing committees of winter universiade 2013 in Trentino (Italy), summer universiade 2015 in Kwangju (Korea), winter universiade 2015 in Granada (Spain), and winter universiade 2017 in Almaty (Kazakhstan) will also present their reports.
Opening the event, Claude-Louis Gallien thanked President of Tatarstan for his participation in work of the FISU Executive committee. He also informed about holding such important events as a special general assembly of FISU and gala- FISU (September 21-22, 2012) in Kazan this year.
“We consider preparation for Universiade in terms of sports heritage. Games will last for only two weeks but we will enjoy sports heritage for many years. Organizers of summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan realize what sport offers for young people today,” Claude-Louis Gallien said.
First FISU vice-president, President of the Russian student sports union Oleg Matytsyn thanked the republican authorities and the Executive office of Universiade 2013 for the most comfortable conditions provided for members of the FISU Executive committee. He believes that all measures within the limits of preparation for Universiade are implemented for the good of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Russian Federation and enable to involve the youth thus forming their new view of life. He reminded that last universiade was held in 1973 in Moscow.
“The forthcoming universiade in Kazan favored the development of student sport in the country, united students and attracted attention to student sport in general. Besides, we managed to revive All-Russia student universiade,” Oleg Matytsyn said.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
On 21 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin said that slightly more than one week is left to file an income tax return for 2025 with the tax service. According to the results of the tax campaign 5.5.bn rubles should come to the regional budget, he said and informed who should submit declarations and who is entitled to benefits.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects.
