Nike intends to develop partnership relationships with Tatarstan

Director General of OOO Nike Eric Kueno informed at the meeting with the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov that the company intends to develop partnership relationships with Tatarstan.

Eric Kueno introduced new Director General of OOO Nike Jim Reynolds who will take the post from September,1, 2012. Then, he told about strategic plans of Nike company meant to be realized in Kazan and Tatarstan. He informed that the company intends to open two brand shops in the Tatarstan capital, provide new jobs, and enhance its presence at the market of sport clothes and gear.

Current Director General of OOO Nike thanked republican leadership and law enforcement agencies for cooperation in terms of reducing counterfeit products in the market.

According to Eric Kueno, Nike management is willing to establish cooperation with Rubin FC in different areas, and has made proposals to the club’s managers.

The company also offers to organize a race in Kazan to involve the youth and children in mass and professional sport, and promote healthy way of life. The company may also organize volleyball competitions or winter sports for young people.

The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov considers all Nike proposals to be interesting. He supposes that companies producing sport clothes and gear should be widely presented to provide all social groups with high-quality produce at reasonable prices.

President of republic thanked Nike management for support rendered to children’s and orphan homes, and sponsorship of sports contests for the disabled. Unfortunately, in the context of forthcoming summer Universiade 2013 your proposals appeared to be less competitive than those of other producers, but future World aquatics championship – 2015 and football championship – 2018 will enable the company to promote its products.

The meeting was attended by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, and Minister of youth affairs, sport and tourism Rafis Burganov.
