Meeting at RT House of the Government on the issue of energy supply facilities of Summer Universiade 2013

Meeting on energy facilities of XXVII World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan was held today in the RT House of Government with the paticipation of Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov and etc.
Opening the meeting, Minnikhanov noted that the further economic development of the region depends on the degree of development of its energy system. He recalled that the country adopted another long-term target program "Energy saving and energy efficiency in the Republic of Tatarstan for 2010-2015". Overall, thanks to the implementation of such programs in the past decade, the energy consumption has significantly reduced, energy efficiency increased. The Head of the republic said that the Kazan region is power-hungry, and the issue of energy efficiency, especially during the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan, is very important. According to him, the Federal Grid Company (FGC) can not solve the problem of energy shortage without support.
In turn, the RF Minister of Energy Alexander Novak said that the preparation electric power facilities of the Volga Federal District (VFD) for the autumn-winter 2012-2013, is inextricably linked with the problems of energy supply facilities of 2013Summer Universiade. He also stressed that today the Ministry of Energy pays particular attention to energy efficiency, including the preparation and holding of the Olympic Games in 2014 in Sochi, and the preparation of the activities of the APEC summit.
Alexander Novak noted that all energy supply facilities of Summer Universiade in Kazan in 2013 should be in the first place. It is important to know the stage of readiness of all these facilities to provide timely assistance. All relevant departments should work together and solve all the problems, said Alexander Novak.
The keynote speaker was CEO of JSC "Grid Company" Ilshat Fardiev. He said that today the plan of preparatio the energy system of the Republic of Tatarstan for the activities of the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan is approved.
Ilshat Fardiev also reported that the reconstruction of a number of substations (including "Kindery" and "Central» substations ), with the replacement of equipment is in prosess.
On March 10, the third meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the 20th anniversary Russian Venture Forum 2026 to be held in Kazan from April 8 to 10, chaired by Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and co-chair of the forum’s organizing committee Aleksey Pesoshin, President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov, Director of the Investment and Venture Fund of Tatarstan Damir Galiev as well as representatives of federal and regional authorities, development institutions and partner organizations via videoconference, took place.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
