First Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Rustam Nigmatullin takes part in a meeting of the working group of the Council under Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District

On July 25, First Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Rustam Nigmatullin took part in a video-conference of the working group of the Council under Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District held by Deputy Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Alexey Kuzmitsky with participation of the regions of the district.

Chief Federal Inspector for the republic Renat Timerzyanov, Head of Tatarstan State Committee on Tourism Sergey Ivanov and Deputy Chairman of Tatarstan Federation of Trade Unions Marat Gafarov took part in the meeting.

Speaking at a meeting, Nigmatullin said that Tatarstan has been recognized a leader on the development of tourism among Russian regions during the last years.

Tatarstan ranked first in the Russian Event Awards National Prize and also won National Geographic Traveler Awards 2018 in the nomination “Russian gastronomic tourism”.

In 2018, the volume of paid services in tourism and related industries amounted to over 28.3 billion roubles, which increased by 37 per cent if compared to 2017.

Tourist flow to Tatarstan amounted to 3.4 million people in 2018, which is 9.6 per cent more than in 2017. 

During the meeting, the working group discussed the plan of its activity, the structure of the report and the list of issues for the formation of information and analytical materials for the Council meeting. 

Council under Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District on the issue of “Development of internal and inbound tourism in the regions of the Volga Federal District” will be held in Kazan in October this year.
