Rustam Minnikhanov meets with guests of Kazan international festival of Muslim cinema

The Kazan international festival of Muslim cinema aims to demonstrate peaceful nature of traditional Islam, the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov stated at the meeting with guests of the VIII festival.
First deputy chief of the RT Presidential Staff Marat Muratov, Minister of culture Airat Sibagatullin took part in the meeting at the Kazan Kremlin. The meeting was held before opening of the festival.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked people who organized the festival and guests for their work. “The festival is held for the 8th time, and we see that it is becoming more popular. There are many opinions about Islam in the modern world and the festival of Muslim cinema helps to demonstrate its peaceful nature,” the Tatarstan President said.
This year more than 450 films from 55 countries pretended to participate in the festival program.
President of the festival – chairman of the Russian Board of muftis Ravil Gainutdin thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for the opportunity to hold the festival of Muslim cinema in Kazan. “We are living in a difficult world today. The attitude to spirituality and morality has greatly changed. We try to use all opportunities to teach young generation spiritual and moral values,” Ravil Gainutdin said.
Deputy Minister of culture and tourism of the Turkish Republic Faruk Sahin conveyed greetings on behalf of the minister to the Tatarstan President. He noted that Turkish cinematographers seem to show greater interest towards the Kazan festival.
The filmmaker Egor Konchalovsky thanked organizers for the opportunity to show feature films that can hardly be commercially distributed.
“People must know more good things about each other to live in harmony and peace. Such festivals help to demonstrate uniqueness of the Islamic religion,” the Tatarstan President believes.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
