The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov has met with Tatars living in the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district during his working trip to the district. Governor of the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district Dmitry Kobylkin took part in the meeting.
He informed that about 200 ethnic groups live in Yamal. 28 000 Tatars live and work in the district. They take an active part in economic, public and cultural life.
The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov thanked leadership of the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district and personally the governor for attention paid to life of Tatars. According to head of republic, Sabantui is celebrated every year in Yamal, mosques and public organizations are functioning in the district.
At the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov and Yamal Tatars discussed problems of preserving the native language, developing traditional trends in Islam and counteracting religious extremism.
Yamal residents addressed Rustam Minnikhanov with request to organize visits of the Tatarstan culture and art figures to the district. The Tatarstan President and Governor of Yamal Dmitry Kobylkin supported the idea. Head of the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district promised to provide all conditions for cultural exchange with Tatarstan.
Finally, Rustam Minnikhanov and Dmitry Kobylkin made pictures with activists of the Yamal Tatar community.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
