Presentation of SEZ Alabuga for foreign and Russian investment companies in Moscow

Presentation of a special economic zone of the industrial-production type “Alabuga” for foreign and Russian investment companies was held in Moscow. Director General of OAO “Special economic zones” Oleg Kostin, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Director General of SEZ Alabuga Timur Shagivaleev took part in the event.
Presentation of SEZ Alabuga (the Elabuga municipal region, the Republic of Tatarstan) was dedicated to the issue “Why do global brands choose SEZ Alabuga.” Guests and potential investors were told about advantages of the special economic zone, preferences for resident companies and created infrastructure.
To the point, 31 resident companies are now registered at the special economic zone. In the nearest few years the number of residents will make 60. In August 2012, the sum of investments made by resident companies in production development at SEZ Alabuga exceeded 1 bln US dollars. The decision regarding expansion of the SEZ Alabuga territory has been approved by the federal government.
President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Andrew Somers characterized the investment climate in the Republic of Tatarstan as positive. Participants of the presentation noted that location of production on the territory of SEZ Alabuga enables decreasing the cost of realization of business projects by one-third, due to favourable conditions offered for developing business and infrastructure.
The Tatarstan President and chairman of Supervision Council of SEZ Alabuga Rustam Minnikhanov said that SEZ resident companies need highly skilled personnel.
Specialists suppose that today SEZ Alabuga faces the following tasks: attraction of investors and highly skilled workers, which includes creation of comfortable conditions for life, construction of housing, social and cultural objects.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
